The NHC Knowledge Base

A library of teachers, churches, movements and belief systems, each one read against the full biblical standard — not against a denomination or a political side. It is built on New Horizon Church's way of interpreting the Bible: five questions, asked in the order a worshipper walked through the Tabernacle.

Outer Court
Bronze Altar Salvation

How is someone saved? ✅ Centre = grace through faith alone (Eph 2:8–9) — Jesus' death on the cross is the only way; sin is named and repentance is genuinely expected. ⬅️ Left = salvation assumed, no real call to repent. ❌ Far Left = saved by good works or religious duty — the cross is not preached clearly. ❌ Far Right = hyper-grace — 'God already forgave everything, repentance is unnecessary, sin has no real consequence.'

Bronze Laver Sanctification

What happens after you're saved? ✅ Centre = Christians grow in holiness through the Holy Spirit and Scripture — an ongoing transformation (Rom 12:2). ❌ Far Left = legalism: salvation is about keeping rules and moral effort, not the Spirit. ❌ Far Right = antinomianism: 'once saved, how you live doesn't matter — sin has no consequence for a believer.'

Holy Place
Golden Lampstand Holy Spirit

Does this teacher affirm the full work of the Holy Spirit today? Every Spirit outpouring in Acts was accompanied by speaking in tongues (Acts 2, 10, 19) — this is NHC's position. ✅ Centre = Spirit baptism affirmed, tongues as normative sign, all gifts active today. ⬅️ Left = tongues downplayed or never taught. ❌ Far Left = actively teaches that gifts have ceased (e.g. MacArthur's Strange Fire conference). ❌ Far Right = false gifts — mysticism, new age crossover, or self-appointed 'apostles' with Scripture-level authority.

Table of Showbread Word of God

Is the Bible taught accurately and treated as the final authority? ✅ Centre = expository, Scripture-based preaching — the Bible as daily bread for every believer. ⬅️ Left = Bible verses quoted but never really taught — feels motivational, but spiritually thin. ❌ Far Right = prosperity gospel: Scripture twisted to promise health and wealth if you have enough faith (e.g. Kenneth Copeland, early Word of Faith excess). Personal revelation added on top of the Bible.

Altar of Incense Prayer & Worship

Is worship a genuine encounter with God, or just a performance? ✅ Centre = worship in Spirit and truth (John 4:23) — both private devotion and corporate gatherings that lead to real transformation. ❌ Far Left = empty ritual, going through the motions with no real encounter. ❌ Far Right = mysticism, emotional manipulation, or new age crossover — experience elevated above Scripture.

Each entry is placed on a five-point spectrum per measure, where centre is the full biblical standard — the goal, not a compromise — and distance measures deviation. Every claim is backed by a cited source.
